Re:  Middle of the night escapades

Aubryn,

It has come to my attention that you seem to think that it is acceptable to wake everyone in the house at 1:30 a.m. and again at 4:30 a.m.   Please note the following:

1.  4:30 a.m. is not an acceptable time to decide that you are up for the day.  Mommy and Daddy need more sleep than this.

2.  If you do wake up in the middle of the night and Mommy and Daddy are desparate  kind enough to bring you into their bed, please keep the following in mind:

       a)  Dark outside = quiet time.  Please refrain from singing, talking, screeching, etc.  Refer to #1, supra.

       b)  You weigh 16 pounds.  Mommy and Daddy both weigh, ahem, more than that.  Therefore, you are not entitled to 3/4 of the king sized bed.

       c)  Pulling Mommy’s hair, eyelashes, nose, shirt, etc and biting Mommy is not acceptable at any time, but most especially in the middle of the night when Mommy is sleeping (or at least trying to).

       d)  If you need anything in the middle of the night – please ask Daddy.

3.  Mommy loves you more than anything but Mommy is really at her wits end with exhaustion!

Thank you for your attention to these matters.  Mommy looks forward to working towards a mutually-beneficial solution to the issue of your middle of the night escapades.

  1. Drew needs to be cc’ed on C. He always lifts my eyelid and says “Are you awake??” Very cute but not fun at 6 a.m.!!

  2. You sure this is about AEK and not my daughter ABL. You can send her a cc of this memo too…she’s been on a sleep strike for the past few nights and on a nap strike since (ahem) daddy came back from bschool. (i’m not pointing any fingers)

  3. Ha! How I can relate!
